What to Expect
You will have a 1 on 1 visit with the doctor to discuss your health concerns and the reason for your visit.
At the conclusion of the initial health consultation, we will perform a complete and comprehensive chiropractic exam.
A series X-rays may be needed to allow us to clearly determine a proper care plan. X-Rays provide us with an objective diagnostic tool that will show us the position of the skull on spine relationship as well as other spinal segments in relation to each other, as well as the quality of the spine and safety of adjusting it. X-Rays also help determine the duration and condition of the individual’s spine.
Report of Findings
Your report of findings will be scheduled the day after your Initial Consultation. This will allow for your doctor to study your exam findings, along with your X-ray information at which point we will share the results that we found with you. You may invite anyone in your family to accompany you, if you choose. Your Report of Findings includes a detailed analysis of what you need in order to solve the problem that brought you into our office and what can be done in order to assure that it won’t happen again. We consider your current lifestyle choices, goals for the future and challenges that are standing in your way. This is why our recommendations are extremely comprehensive and have the chance to be the solution that you have been seeking to find.
Many of our patients are in pain when they first visit our office. If you are experiencing pain, our first objective is to help you feel better. We do this by changing the aspect of how the body responds to inflammation and what it knows to be unbalance and compensating. Your unique plan of care will depend on the severity and nature of your problem. However, our patients typically require care 2-3 times per week during this phase which lasts 4-12 weeks.
Once you have experienced relief, you will move into the corrective care phase. During this phase, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal completely. Muscles, tendons and ligaments regain their positional sense to coordinate for bodily stresses and promote stability. This helps prevent future injury and discomfort. Depending on the severity of the problem, your overall health and progress, we will determine how many treatments are necessary during this phase.
Once your body has fully healed, periodic adjustments will help ensure stability and avoid future injuries. Usually, this only requires a quick visit 1-4 times per month, depending on your lifestyle and personal goals. Our care during the wellness phase can become a relaxing routine, aiding in your overall health, wellness and vitality.
